Connect Solar recently completed this solar PV and battery storage installation at a property in Windermere, Cumbria.
The customer wanted to reduce their reliance on the grid, make better use of renewable energy generated at the property and have the ability to store surplus solar energy for use later in the day.
The completed installation consists of:
14 × 435W Jinko Solar panels
6.09kWp total solar PV capacity
6kW hybrid inverter
9.4kWh battery storage
In-roof solar mounting system
The 14 panels were installed using an in-roof system, allowing the panels to sit flush with the surrounding roof finish rather than being mounted above the tiles. This gives the system a much cleaner, integrated appearance.
A 9.4kWh battery was installed alongside the solar PV system, allowing excess energy generated during the day to be stored rather than immediately exported back to the grid.
The stored energy can then be used when solar generation drops, particularly during the evening, helping the homeowner increase their solar self-consumption and reduce the amount of electricity purchased from the grid.
Careful consideration was given to both the performance and appearance of the system, from the positioning of the panels through to the inverter, battery and associated electrical equipment.
The result is a neat, fully integrated renewable energy system designed to provide the property with lower grid consumption and greater control over its energy use for years to come.
